DEEPER PURPOSE

Galilea Hotel Bohol began with a simple yet meaningful vision: to create a place where people can gather, learn, and grow together.

In 2007, a local cooperative in Bohol established a modest accommodation and catering facility known as the Galilea Center for Education and Development. The property initially featured a six-room bungalow, a two-storey building for dining and seminars, and a chapel, serving as a welcoming space for retreats, workshops, and student programs.

As the years passed, the vision expanded.

In 2018, plans were set in motion to transform the property into a deluxe hotel—one that would offer not just comfort, but a meaningful environment for both recreation and reflection.

A year later, in 2019, this vision took physical form with the groundbreaking of a larger development. The expansion included multiple hotel buildings, a convention facility, a training center, a renovated chapel, a reception area, and a lagoon swimming pool. Designed to meet 4-star standards, the property began its evolution into a destination for both leisure and corporate gatherings.

In 2026, Galilea Hotel Bohol opens its doors with a new identity, while embracing a deeper purpose: to become an ambassador of Bohol’s culture and history. This commitment continues to shape every aspect of the guest experience, from thoughtfully designed spaces inspired by local themes, to curated food and beverage offerings that celebrate international and Boholano flavors.

As part of this cultural commitment, we proudly operate under the banner of Sandugo Hospitality. Inspired by Bohol’s historic 1565 ritual of friendship and mutual trust, Sandugo means “one blood.” To us, it is a living definition of the Boholano character.
